Yay! I am so excited.
I have registered for RWA's national conference being held this year in San Diego. I have never been to nationals before, but I have wanted to go for years. It is going to be amazing!
Scheduled for mid-July, not only is it taking place in sunny and beautiful southern California, but it also has some awesome speakers lined up. The incomparable Beverly Jenkins is the keynote luncheon speaker and Roxanne St. Clair is emcee for the awards ceremony. Additional featured speakers include Jennifer Armentrout, Sherry Thomas, and Dr. Valerie Young. On top of that, there are the nearly limitless workshops on the craft and business of writing that will be available to choose from.
Though I have been to the much smaller but still wonderful local conference put on by WisRWA, the Wisconsin chapter of RWA, this will be the first time I have ventured to the national gathering. RWA's conference is the place to meet and hang out with authors, agents, and editors from all across the romance novel industry.
With more than 2,000 people in attendance, it will likely be an exhilarating, exhausting, and utterly fabulous weekend!
I cannot wait and I will be sure to take pictures to post to my website. Now, I just have to make it through the next few months of anticipation until July gets here...
